His upcoming movie, The Conspirator, had a premiere in Washington on Sunday and one in New York last night. Jonathan did not attend because he was filming Glee soon and it looks it is true since he is back on Glee set. Lea tweeted today:
Now this is what I call a great day of work! Singing in the morning with my best friend and working with one of our favorite directors!

In Watch With Kristin’s spoiler chat, she mentioned some Jesse St. James scoop:
kec0309: I need more #Glee scoop! What can we expect when Jonathan Groff returns as Jesse St. James?
Even though our first assumption would be that Jesse is returning to woo Rachel, he has another motive up his sleeve (which is most likely a leather jacket sleeve, of course). But don’t worry, Jesse’s motive isn’t evil. He’s just trying to help out a friend. But even if his motive was evil, who cares? The Groff is back!
You will see Lea & Jonathan twirl hug moment and also a cute moment around 1:17 in the background of Kevin in this look back at Glee Live 2010 to promote Glee Live 2011
Here is Samantha Stephens‘ interview with Jonathan which I mentioned last week where he talks about Glee, Lea Michele, Spring Awakening, The Conspirator and more!
“Glee’s” favorite mischievous bad boy is making a comeback.
Jesse St. James, played by Jonathan Groff, is most known for being Rachel Berry’s (Lea Michele) ex-boyfriend from the rival Carmel High School.
“I love his confidence and how unabashedly full of himself he is,” Groff said. “Is he good or is he bad? Jesse certainly had a secret. He’s likable and unlikable at the same time. It’s a fun balance.”
In the last episodes Jesse appeared in, he egged Rachel in the WMHS parking lot after their relationship turned sour then led the Vocal Adrenaline glee club to a win over the New Directions in the Regionals competition.
“It was awesome. I loved it,” Groff said of the parking lot scene. “The only thing that was hard was not laughing. It took five or six takes. The lines were so intense.”
“I wish I knew more,” he said of Jesse’s return. “I found out last week. Ryan Murphy contacted me. I start in a week or two.”
“I’ll be singing with Lea probably but I don’t know if he’s raising havoc or coming to apologize.”
“Their relationship was a little unresolved,” he said. “I would like some resolution.”
“Obviously I’m rooting for him,” Groff prefaced. “Jesse was the only one who gives Rachel a run for her money. He challenges her in a very unique way but Rachel and Finn are sweet. It depends on what happens when Jesse comes back.”
Despite rumors circulating the internet, Groff is still unsure whether Jesse will attend the WMHS prom.
“Is that legal? Jesse graduated so I’m not sure if that would work,” he said. “But I think it would be fun and dramatic.”
“I went to prom three times in high school. I was asked by a senior in my freshman year who played opposite me in the musical. I went my junior and senior year with my friend,” he added.
Although Groff and Michele play ex-flames on “Glee”, the pair have been best friends since performing in the Tony Award-winning “Spring Awakening” on Broadway.
“I’ve known Lea for five years. The key to any long-term relationship is re-negotiating. With really good friends you know you’re really good friends even if you don’t talk a lot,” Groff said.
“My favorite song to perform from ‘Spring Awakening’ is ‘Left Behind.’ It’s the most beautiful song. The music score is unreal.”
If the latest birthday video response of Jonathan having watched the video and loving it wasnt enough, we got more!! Jonathan was recently interviewed by Sam Stephens where Jonathan brought up the birthday video and mentioned it was sweet
via twitter: tweet 1 and tweet 2
he did, he did! i asked him if he had anything he wanted to say to his fans and he said tell them i love them, saw the vid, etc
yep, jonathan said he saw the video and thought it was very sweet! i didn’t have to mention it; he brought it up!
She will have the interview up sometime next week. A breakdown of some of the stuff that was covered:
Won’t be getting a Twitter soon, sorry.
Saw the Birthday video and enjoyed it.
Sweetest, most kind-hearted boy in the world.
I love him even more — and I was obsessed before today.
We talked about Lea and St. Berry
I informed him what “Klaine” means
I can’t believe I was actually able to wish GROFF a happy belated Birthday.
Did I mention I love him?
Here are some behind the scene footages of Jonathan’s upcoming movie, The Conspirator, which opens on April 15. Unfortunately, he is not in any of them but you guys may want to check them out! Remember they contain spoilers!

Since TVline confirmed Jonathan would be back, we have been getting more articles on it. Here are some other interesting snippets from others:
OMG! Remember all those times we said that Jonathan Groff is popping back up on Glee this season? He’s back in Los Angeles at this very moment, hanging out with Lea Michele and just being his angelic self. It’s true, we saw them at dinner last night.
As this season from Glee winds down, it looks like a familiar face will be returning. TV Line has the scoop on Jonathan Groff returning to the series, the guy who played Rachel Berry’s (Lea Michele) boyfriend Jesse St. James from Vocal Adrenaline who ended up reuniting Rachel with her biological mother before betraying New Directions. It sounds like a soap opera when I write it out like that, but this is Glee after all. Anyway, his return will see James attempt to apologize to Rachel and maybe even win her back in the final three episodes of the season. But what songs will he sing? Maybe Elton John’s Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word? We’ll find out soon enough.
…That’s great and all since we loved real life BFFs Groff and Michele’s chemistry, but what we really want to see is a sing-off between Jesse and Blaine (Darren Criss). Old fan favorite vs. new fan favorite sounds pretty epic, no?
Nicole Crowther tweeted
Jon groff is back! I love him
Some more song suggestions:
I’m hoping he comes back to apologize (in song; “Always On My Mind,” anyone? )…and she rejects him (perhaps with “Never Gonna Happen” by Lily Allen). It would be a powerful step for Rachel, who has a nasty habit of yearning after guys who’ve wronged her, and it would be fun to see the ultra-confident Jesse St. James humbled by rejection. Not to mention, the sight of a devastated J.G. might drill holes in my soul — which is always something to look forward to.
Okay, Gleeks. That’s my take (…please don’t hurt me). What’s yours?
Should Rachel forgive Jesse? If they communicate in song, what songs should they sing to each other? (Seriously, if Jesse sings Willie Nelson, I’ll die…from heartbreak.)
Looks like Jonathan will be returning to Glee
Spoilers ahead:
Remember me telling you a few weeks back that there were no current plans for Jonathan Groff to reprise his role as Rachel’s evil ex Jesse St. James this season on Glee?
Sources confirm to me exclusively that the fan favorite has closed a deal to return for this season’s final three episodes.
Groff exited Glee at the end of Season 1 when the Vocal Adrenaline frontman’s diabolical scheme to infiltrate and bring down New Directions was revealed. Next thing you know Jesse’s back with VA and Rachel’s heart is in tatters.
“He’s back to apologize to Rachel,” confides a source close to the show, “and perhaps get her back.”
Like I mentioned in an earlier post, I had mentioned to Jonathan’s cousin in law, Steve who runs Webstaurant Store with Jonathan’s brother, David about the video. Steve had passed the video along to David yesterday who was impressed by the video and passed it along to Jonathan!
Here is the response back they got from Jonathan
I would like to thank everyone again for submitting their fan messages in wishing Jonathan a happy birthday. My co web, Britt, for making the amazing video and Tats initiative with the project. Big thanks to Remy Zaken, Steve and David!Tweet
